About the Hall: Linton Village Hall is a Victorian building that was once the village School. It has been sympathetically restored and improvements made, including modern facilities, kitchen and disabled access, yet still it retains many of it’s characterful original features.

The building comprises entrance lobby leading to two Main Rooms with adjoining kitchen. it is a versatile space and can accommodate a variety of purposes, including meetings, lectures, fitness activities, talks, artisan markets, and jumble sales, family celebrations such as Birthday and Christening parties, weddings and wakes. Coffee Mornings and other enjoyable activities (Bingo, Music Quiz, for example) take place regularly throughout the year to raise spirits and funds for the Hall. A bar licence can be obtained for any of the above events.

The Hall offers excellent conferencing facilities, we can supply

  • a projector stand
  • wall mounted projection screen
  • display boards
  • P/A System

Historical Background: When the Linton Village School closed, the Hall was made over to become a Village Hall for Linton and the neighbourhood in a conveyance of 18 January 1961. It is run as a Charity and the Charitable purpose is defined as being “for the use of the inhabitants of Linton and the neighbourhood (hereinafter called the “areas of benefit”) without distinction of sex or political religious or other opinions and in particular for use for meetings lectures and classes and for other forms of recreational and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.”

The title to the property is held by the Parish Council, on behalf of the village, as Custodian Trustees.

The management of the Hall is the responsibility of the Village Hall Management Committee as Administering Trustees.
