The Old Chapel in Gotherington was built in 1833 and was originally owned by the Countess of Huntingdon’s Trust.
Today the building is owned by The Old Chapel Community Project (Registered UK Charity No. 1179607), a charity set up in 2018 by villagers of Gotherington, who wanted to ensure that The Old Chapel would remain a place the community could use for years to come.
Further work to the building is planned which will require grant funding and additional fundraising activities, however, a mini renovation has meant the doors to this lovely building have been opened to the local community once again.
Brief summary of the hall
We are a newly formed charity and have only recently purchased this building. It is 185 years old so full of character. It is not like many halls which are all modern and new, but if you are looking for a small, intimate meeting space with excellent access, please look at our website for details.
